Useful links for the transplant journey

Australia's oldest Parliament had not revisited Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplant Awareness since 2012 and wit the support of David Mehan MP and Adam Crouch MP the NSW Parliamentary Friends group was formed giving a new focus to the importance of organ and tissue donation in saving lives.

Transplant Advocacy played a crucial role in advicating in both Western Australia and South Australia so that  Donor families could be able to celebrate their loved ones through some excellent work by each state.

The Chief Health Office issued a letter to DFA, DonateLIfe and Transplant Australia in WA to confirm that there was no public interest in prosecuting any family under the Section 34 C of the HTTA. The government has also signaled their intent to change he Law.

In South Australia a bill was introduced to exempt families from prosecution under the TAA Act in South Australia

Lyfebulb is a US based support organisation that offers resources and information around the word. Each year they partner with Veloxis a pharmaceutical company to promote innovation in are of Organ and Tissue Transplants.  This year Transplant Advocacy were invited to submit an application and on behalf of the Sweetest Gift a submission was made and resulted in The Sweetest gift being an International Finalist in the Awards
