WA revises HTTA

The Western Australian Parliament has started revising and modernising the Human Tissue and Transplant Act 1982 forty years after it was first introduced .

The current urgent amendments to the HTTA are lifesaving amendments that ware focused on modernising the laws to reflect lifesaving medical and scientific advances and benefits which are expected to receive unanimous passage through parliament.

The matter associated with S34c(2) is being attended and will be amended in a futer submission to Parliament but the ability for all Donor Families to Commemorate and Celebrate their loved ones was addressed in a letter that was sent to Donor Families, Donatelife and Transplant Australia in July 2022z
