Donors should be honoured not just thanked!

Writer: Robert ManningRobert Manning

There are a lot of reasons Australia has a donation rate less than half that of the USA. (17 dpmp v 40 dpmp)

In Australia, we shy away from honouring our donor heroes yet celebrate the recipients.

Australia spends millions on expensive advertising and sports sponsorships to raise awareness. Yet we have just one official day of thanks to the people who saved thousands of lives - donors.

Whilst every recipient, I have met, is grateful every day for their second chance, every donor family I have spoken with misses their loved one every day too!

Australia needs to do more to recognise and acknowledge just how important our DONOR HEROES living and deceased are🇦🇺!
