A lot of focus has been on the organ and tissue donation rates in the period since COVID.
In 2017/18/19 & 20 Australia saw higher numbers of deceased donors and higher rates of Next of Kin Consent than in 2021 & 22.
The first two months of 2023 have started below the levels of the first four years and on par with the past two.
The trends do not appear to be headed back to the levels of pre COVID unlike in other countries where post COVID numbers for Consent and Lives saved by transplants are breaking records.
